We pick per asset rather than forcing one device onto everything.

What kinds of assets can PAT-1 track?
Company vehicles, forklifts, semis, trailers, tankers, barges, railcars, generators, compressors, and returnable containers. Powered assets — vehicles, forklifts, tractors — wire into the equipment itself. Unpowered assets — trailers, tankers, barges — use rugged long-life battery trackers sealed against weather and washdown.
How do the trackers communicate?
Outdoor assets report over cellular IoT networks — LTE-M and NB-IoT — using GPS for position, so they don't touch your Wi-Fi or corporate network. Indoors, where GPS doesn't work reliably, BLE beacons and gateways place assets by zone instead of coordinates.
How long do the batteries last?
It depends almost entirely on how often you want an asset to report. A trailer or tanker checking in a few times a day can run for years on a single battery. A vehicle or forklift reporting every few minutes should be wired into the equipment instead, so battery life stops being a constraint at all. We size the hardware to the reporting interval you actually need — asking for updates every 30 seconds when hourly would do is the fastest way to make a deployment expensive.
Does it work indoors?
Yes, using BLE rather than GPS. Satellite signal degrades badly inside steel buildings, so indoor coverage works by placing beacons or gateways at doorways, bays, and work centers. You get reliable zone-level answers — which bay an asset is in — rather than a precise coordinate. For most operations, "it's in Bay 3" is the answer you actually needed.
Can it connect to our existing systems?
That's the part we've been doing for years. Asset data can feed your ERP, maintenance system, SQL Server or AS/400 database, or an existing dashboard. Tracking data that lives in its own separate portal nobody logs into is how these projects die — integration is what makes it stick.
